The first day of rehearsals for a new theatre company of eight actors with various backgrounds and experiences. A director with bizarre theories on compulsory theatre attendance, who hands out dialogues and monologues to test their effectiveness at the appropriate distances. A highly experienced actress, a singer who wants to sing, an actor who fluffs his lines, a comedian and a dramatic actress ... There is also a pianist, who is perhaps the true director.
By Karl Valentin, Thomas Bernhard, Achille Campanile, Angelo Cecchelin, Carlo Goldoni, Srečko Kosovel, Italo Svevo and other authors. With Ariella Reggio, Laura Bussani, Emanuele Fortunati, Ester Galazzi, Franko Korošec, Alessandro Mizzi, Nikla Petruška Panizon and Marzia Postogna. Riccardo Morpurgo on piano.
Produced by Teatro Stabile del Friuli Venezia Giulia, Teatro Stabile Sloveno/Slovensko stalno gledališče, La Contrada/Teatro Stabile di Trieste, Teatro Miela/Bonawentura.

“When I’m by the sea I want nothing more, just to be there. It has the sense of an infinite present, and that is love at its strongest: an infinite present". The words of Claudio Magris embody the deep relationship with the sea felt by anyone born in Trieste, which this show aims to tell through the writings of Trieste authors, regular visitors to the swimming beaches - the "bagni" – dotted around the coast. The actors voice their reflections in Miramare Castle’s enchanting little harbour.

Based on Gilberto Forti’s book of the same name, the show is performed indoors and outdoors this year, in the unusual setting of Miramare Park and Castle. It created a spark that ignited the First World War.
By Gilberto Forti; with Emanuele Fortunati, Ester Galazzi, Francesco Migliaccio and Maria Grazia Plos; music by Johann Strauss Jr. and Franz Schubert, recorded by Quartetto Iris (Laura Furlan, violin; Emanuela Colagrossi, violin; Maria Lucia Dorfmann, viola; Cecilia Barucca Sebastiani, cello).

It recalls the event that shook Europe and changed it forever, as seen by different characters - the assassination in Sarajevo of the heir to the Habsburg throne, Archduke Franz Ferdinand, and his wife Sofia on 28 June 1914.
