Built in the early 16th century, it is the oldest of the three bastions of San Giusto Castle. Its sea facing position offers a splendid view of the city.

The first day of rehearsals for a new theatre company of eight actors with various backgrounds and experiences. A director with bizarre theories on compulsory theatre attendance, who hands out dialogues and monologues to test their effectiveness at the appropriate distances. A highly experienced actress, a singer who wants to sing, an actor who fluffs his lines, a comedian and a dramatic actress ... There is also a pianist, who is perhaps the true director.

A journey from Giosuè Carducci to Claudio Magris in search of Trieste's history and places, through poems, theatrical presentations and narrative extracts. Starting from Carducci’s Miramar and passing through Cergoly, Giotti, Magris, Joyce, Pittoni, Saba, Slataper, Svevo and Košuta, the show illustrates the charm and the deep literary culture and tradition of Trieste. The renowned ensemble, made up of virtuosi of the Orchestra of the Teatro Verdi di Trieste, presents its customary concert covering various periods (with music by Händel, Verdi, Carmichael and many others), and demonstrating - with great flexibility - that the timbre and technique of brass are fundamental to the Lyric-Symphonic Orchestra.

This show seeks to evoke the 50s and 60s through words and music. It begins with popular music from 1950s England, and then glides into the atmosphere of Italy's economic boom with the aid of cinema, TV and theatre, plus unforgettable music, such as Nino Rota's compositions for the soundtracks of Fellini's films.
